Recently, a team led by Professor Li Yaowen at the College of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Materials Science of Soochow University published a research paper in Nature.
Flexible perovskite solar cells, with their light weight and high power-to-weight ratio, can be applied in building-integrated photovoltaics, wearable devices, and other fields. Beginning with the molecular electronic structure, the team designed and synthesized a self-assembled monolayer (SAM) interfacial material featuring an "electronic resonance" structure, FMTPA-CPA, which enabled firmer anchoring of molecules onto the electrode surface while enhancing interfacial charge transport.
The work reveals the relationship among molecular electronic structure, interfacial bonding interactions and device stability, offering a new perspective on the rational design of interfacial transport layers in flexible perovskite solar cells and accelerating the commercialization of such devices.
